The functional birdhomes will be supported by 10 poles set in place by retired wine barrels from a local North Fork vineyard & winery, Castello di Borghese. The stylized forest bird habitat is built out of reclaimed materials, and also incorporates sustainable building practices such as greenroofs and living walls. Therefore facilitating natives plants to flower, bees to pollinate, and wild strawberries to support birds...
The work also creates a recreational habitat for humans; to encourage human visitors to engage with urban wildlife.
